“i’m impressed and also extremely attracted to you right now.”...
Suburban Camo.
bahahaha. accurate. lol.
i never thought about this in this way.
alright. so picture this:
there is a man- a seriously dangerous, hateful man.
he’s known for the murder and arrest of believers.
known by all as someone - you DON’T want to run into at the market.
He’s in town.
“Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples.” (verse 1)
God tells you “Go! this man in my chosen instrument to carry my name before the Gentiles and their kings before the people of Iseael. I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.” (verses 15-16)
…uhm, God? are we talking about the same person right now?
you DO realize he’s like- insane, right?
like- he’s going to KILL me.
yes. i know his past. i know everything about him - now go.
what.in.the.world?
what are you supposed to say to someone who wants to kill you and your people…?
“oh hey! by the way, God, you know.. the one you kill people because of? yeah, well- He just wanted to let you know that He’s planning on using you for His will.. oh yeah, and by the way- you’re going to suffer for it...but don’t shoot me, i’m just the messanger!”
like, really?
see- maybe this is wrong, but i kinda, modernize the Bible a lot so it applies more to me.
If God were to say to me “Hey Liz, you know that terriorist who has killed hundreds of believers people this week? well- go let him know that he’s going to be used by me, AND he’s going to suffer for it.”
i think i’d have a less “calm” calm responce than Ananias did…
i’d like to believe that i’d do it, but i’d be scared to death.
i think that Ananias showed a trust in God that is admirable. he faced his fear head on- he put himself on the line and did the unthinkable…
i may be the only one who never really thought about this correctly when reading this the millions of times that i have… but i doubt it.
God could have very easily said “hey, Ananias, Saul is a changed man. his heart is soft to the things of God, and I have chosen you to be the one to guide him to me. He will not harm you, he is waiting for you now.. go in peace.”
but instead God kinda left out some stuff. i don’t know, but sometimes i think that God asks us to do insane stuff which seemingly makes NO SENSE… like, we know that He has a plan, and we KNOW that God’s ways are higher than our ways… but SOMETIMES, God asks us to do those crazy things out of faith and trust in Him.
i find it interesting because for whatever reason, i always assumed that Ananias knew that Saul had met with God, and was changed… but God never said that to Ananias.
i can’t explain to you how tired i am, so i apologize for any spelling or confusion this blog may bring… i just opened my bible randomly and read this (not even all the way through) and right away felt compelled to write about this on here.
guys, God is going to ask us to do some seemingly impossible, or crazy things… if you haven’t already expierenced that (and TRUST me, i sure have… ask me about it if you’d like to know about one saturday night i had! haha) you may NEVER see the whole plan that God has to unfold, however .. be sure that no matter HOW CRAZY or IMPOSSIBLE His request may be, INCRECIBLE things happen when God is in it. just know that when God asks you to do something He WILL give you the strength to do whatever it is He’s asking you to do. you are NEVER alone when it comes to God.
i don’t know why i stayed up later than i wanted to write this whole blog out, which is rather long.. but who knows, maybe one of you needed to read this. i just hope God uses me in all i do, and through my actions i bring God praise.
that’s all. thanks for reading. (:
